Posted by Ktoso under coding, freedom, fun, terminal heroes (No Respond)

I’ve released my keyboard event mapper for the Microsoft Sidewinder X6 in an quite usable state right now. Take a look at sidewinder-x6-linux-macro-key-events on github. Here’s a quick description what it does: As the Sidewinder is an Microsoft keyboard, it obviously does all it can to not work at it’s full potential on GNU/Linux systems [...]

Posted by Ktoso under coding, freedom, fun, java (No Respond)

Yesterday and today I’ve been hacking some JavaScript during a free training organized by http://releasingforce.com/ although they’re not really braging that it’s them who do these meetings, more precisely: http://www.devmeetings.pl/ :-) As I’m coding quite a lot GWT and JS has also become quite powerfull in the last years I enlisted the training to learn [...]

[release] maven-git-commit-id-plugin

Posted by Ktoso under coding, english, freedom, fun, guide, java (15 Responds)

Yup, today I’m releasing yet another piece of cool free software! It solves a problem we’ve had at our company, the tester tometimes tested stuff that wasn’t deployed yet, and the developers thought it was deployed and this caused some weird situations sometimes. Using the plugin I’ve written, we’re able to expose “which version is [...]

git-hacking: pre-commit hook and custom command

Posted by Ktoso under coding, english, freedom, fun, java, terminal heroes (1 Respond)

As my team is using a kinda weird source eclipse code formatter setup, that other IDEs can’t emulate in 100% I sometimes found myself committing in a file with only a few changed spaces. Of course, I could use “external-formatter” plugins etc but that’s no good. Running eclipse’s formatter each time I want to format [...]

FDM – Not Libre but still a better way of selling music

Posted by Ktoso under freedom (No Respond)

A week ago a friend of mine told me about an interesting idea by FDM (Fabryka Dźwięku z Muz – pl. ‘Factory of Sounds from Muses’ (it’s kinda hard to translate)). FDM is a small music label, supporting new and fresh artists (indie, could be a good word here I guess). As such, it’s not [...]

(Almost) Automatically convert files into PDF

Posted by Ktoso under coding, freedom, fun, terminal heroes (No Respond)

I’m learning Numerical Analysis right now and a friend of mine found some really nice PS files by dr Marian Bubek ( http://www.icsr.agh.edu.pl/~mownit/mownit.html ). I was really happy to see some *.ps but some people from my fellow students started complaining that they’d rather have pdf’s and not ghostscript files (who knows why they’d do..?). [...]

Fixing Blender problems on IntelGMAX4500

Posted by Ktoso under coding, freedom, guide (No Respond)

I’ve recently bought a new laptop, a 15.6” HP Probook, that replaced my netbook Asus EEE 900 (needed some bigger hardware to work on “on the move”). One problem I encountered was blender not displaying correctly if I’d expand any dropdown menu etc. The fix is very simple yet powerfull, just set the following: LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 [...]

Posted by Ktoso under freedom, fun (No Respond)

My first blender animation: The wine doesn’t look nor feel nor even behave like normal wine but it’s just my first animation so there’s still time left for me to improve… ;-)
